Curling Canada, the national governing body for the sport, has once again partnered with Cossette to raise awareness, drive ticket sales — and new for this year — let people know they can get up close to top athletes of the sport.

Doug, the newbie curling commentator from last year’s campaign is back. He interviews Team Canada curling stars in a post-game format, including Kevin Koe and Chelsea Carey, and the conversation turns to how close fans can get to the athletes during games.

Fans in the lower seats can practically shake hands with the athletes during games. No other sport has the same level of proximity and it creates a real sense of connection, which is why our athletes are so popular in the sports community, and why there’s such a great demand for tickets to our championship events.

The ads will air on TSN, CTV, Global, as well as online, from now until March in conjunction with Curling Canada’s Season of Champions events. The campaign also includes print, digital, social, and OOH ads reinforcing the “get closer” messaging.

People are hungry for authentic experiences and it doesn’t get more up close and personal than curling. This campaign is delightful and fun — just like the experience of attending a curling event. Doug was a fan-favourite last year and he’s back to motivate core fans to buy tickets and to introduce new ones to the game.

The organization also recently relaunched its website—working again with Cossette. The new site is streamlined in its design and makes content easily available for curlers and fans in Canada, as well as around the world.
