For the Bye Bye 2024, Air Canada whisks Quebecers back to their childhood memories by reimagining a holiday TV classic: La Guerre des tuques. Rooted in the creative platform See you there, the Cossette-produced ad celebrates the unique spirit of Quebecers while showcasing Air Canada’s pride in connecting them to the world.

In this sunny reinterpretation, a Quebec couple on vacation stumbles upon a playful scene that triggers a familiar memory. Inspired by a beloved moment from the film, the ad transports the iconic snowball fight to a beachside setting, where sandballs replace snowballs. Every detail is carefully recreated—from costumes to sound effects to the intricate sandcastle design and unforgettable lines—with one notable twist: Cléo, the movie’s legendary dog, survives the collapse of the castle, delighting fans with a happy ending.

Blending humor and nostalgia, Air Canada pays tribute to a cornerstone of Quebec culture, strengthening its emotional connection with local travelers. This charming nod to the film, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, will also be available on select Air Canada flights starting in January.
