Canadian production experts create interactive resource for global industry
A new interactive platform and research initiative, led by a group of Canadian production professionals, is aiming to demystify safe production practices as the industry begins to recover from COVID-19 constraints around the world.
Practice Safe Sets is intended to complement local government-approved health and safety guidelines (the information is not vetted by healthcare professionals), with a focus on the 20 percent of production unique to each set. While things like safely providing craft services are standard, how to film a car chase, for example, has its own unique challenges.
The founders wanted to create a free platform to share ideas about how to address the specific aspects of any given production, with the belief that the learning curve will be a little easier with more minds contributing.
The online and mobile platform, with brand and visual identity by Cossette, provides advice and best practices that can be adapted and shared by production personnel anywhere. Users are encouraged to engage with the community on social media and submit content for consideration to the free resource in order to help their global peers.
