Mylène — Off-Brief

Hors-brief is Cossette from the inside. Real moments, projects that inspire us, and the people who shape the tone every day. Today, we meet Mylène.

I’m an Art Director at Cossette, and I work with my longtime partner, Alena. Around the agency, people call us the Mylena. A blend of our two names that seems to follow us everywhere. We do everything together. Thinking, creating, refining, starting over. And apparently dressing alike too. A little too often, some would say. The funny part is that it’s never planned. We arrive in the morning, look at each other, and realize we somehow picked the same palette again without knowing it. We swear.

I’m part of the party committee.

It can be a little stressful to organize events for your own colleagues, especially when you work surrounded by highly critical people. Everyone has an eye for the details. But every time, it’s worth it. When the music starts and everyone lets loose, the stress of organizing fades pretty quickly. And when you say party, you inevitably say Halloween. At Cossette, that night, people really go all in.

Count on me for team sports.

I love anything that gets us away from our screens and moving together. There’s nothing better for team building than spending a full day playing volleyball, laughing, and yelling a little too loudly when the ball drops right between two people. It’s simple, but it feels good. And for a few hours, the briefs and layouts can wait.

Team building doesn’t just happen at the office. It also means going out together and spending time with each other somewhere other than in front of our screens. Those moments matter. We get to know each other differently, unplug for a bit, and connect for real. And just look at this crew. Let’s just say we also know how to have a good time once we leave the office.

I work with a graphic tablet. And a cat, usually not too far away. The tablet honestly saved me from carpal tunnel syndrome, so it has become part of my daily setup. It’s second nature now. As soon as I start drawing or retouching something, it’s there.

“In short, let’s make that clear.” Apparently that’s a phrase I say quite often. Often enough, in fact, that my partner decided to make me a hat with it. 👇
