After cuddling his way into the hearts of Canadians in Walmart Canada’s 2018 holiday campaign, Walmart’s teddy bear is back to spread some cheer in a new holiday campaign for the one-stop shop retailer.

Walmart Holiday 2020 30s Hero

Directed by Mark Zibert and led by Cossette, the new 30-second holiday hero spot sees the teddy bear back inside of Walmart, rallying friends from across the store to bring some extra love and care to Canadians this holiday season. The new ad is live today and will run through December on TV, digital and social. The campaign also includes an ad integration on the CBC and additional 15 second spots featuring the teddy bear to highlight two new in-store initiatives to make holiday shopping even easier and faster for Canadians. Starting this month, Walmart Canada locations will be accepting tap payments and all checkout lanes will be open on Saturdays and Sundays at peak times until Christmas.

With the holidays looking a bit different this year, many families may need to stretch their dollars even further and we want to make sure that we’re doing our part to make that happen. With our everyday low prices, Walmart helps lessen that pressure, with everything Canadians need at one stop to help simplify the shopping mission and bring joy this season.

The teddy bear’s mission to spread joy and give back is furthered by the program’s charitable extension. This holiday season, when the commercial’s teddy bear is purchased in-store or online, Walmart will donate $2* to Children’s Miracle Network to support local children’s hospitals across Canada.

2020 has been an emotional rollercoaster for everyone and people will be looking to brands for a bit of optimism during the holidays. Because Canadians already know and love Teddy, his return to the screen is the perfect antidote to a challenging year.
