Cossette contributes to the creation of the new corporate identity of SNC-Lavalin: AtkinsRéalis

The world-leading design, engineering and project management firm partnered with Cossette to unveil a complete rebrand.
Building on over a century of accomplishments, SNC-Lavalin, Atkins and Faithful+Gould are now AtkinsRéalis, a world-leading design, engineering and project management organization proudly headquartered in Canada.
It is the creative agency Cossette, in collaboration with Interbrand and MRM, who supported AtkinsRéalis with the development of the company’s new name and visual identity platform, as well as with the deployment of an impactful global launch campaign to kick off this important new chapter.
Cossette and AtkinsRéalis worked with additional partners who each played a significant role in the project. The brand development phase was led by Interbrand, a global branding consultancy. Cossette supported Interbrand bringing AtkinsRéalis’ purpose of “Engineering a better future for our planet and its people” to life by creating a rich and flexible brand ecosystem that reflects the organization, its people and the positive energy it brings to the different sectors in which it operates.
A central element of this exercise was the development of the new name. The name AtkinsRéalis combines Atkins, a legacy brand that is well-established across the company’s international markets, and “Réalis,” a coined term inspired by the city of Montréal and the company’s French-Canadian roots. “Réalis” also resembles the verb “to realize”, to make something happen, which highlights the company’s focus on outcomes and project delivery, and highlights the fact that AtkinsRéalis has all of the right ingredients to make the extraordinary a reality.
Following the development of the brand, Cossette was chosen to work on the brand launch campaign in partnership with MRM, a relationship marketing agency. This campaign was built around the idea of “collective brilliance”, elevating AtkinsRéalis’ strength of end-to-end collaboration—across geographies, capabilities and markets. The campaign thus aims to reinforce the notion that by joining forces as AtkinsRéalis, new possibilities are unlocked.
A full video ecosystem was built to illustrate the idea that “together changes everything”, showcasing a myriad of projects globally on which AtkinsRéalis has played a leadership role. In addition, an out-of-home, print and digital campaign will support the launch of AtkinsRéalis in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The campaign will run from the end of September to the beginning of November in these three key markets.
